The New Nude

When it comes to style, sometimes staying with the classics is best. Kim Kardashian is a prime example of this. Since marrying her beau, Kanye West, and becoming a mother, Kim’s style has evolved. Remember her days of mini skirts and color blocking? Kim has taught us a lesson in the development of personal style. These days, we can catch Kim in a midi dress that flatters her hourglass figure or a simple t-shirt with a pair of her favorite skinny jeans. The Keeping up with the Kardashians star is famed, however, for wearing neutral tones, including the uncompromising nude.

Nude is one of those hues that will never go out of season, trend, or style because it literally goes with E V E R Y T H I N G. I can’t begin to tell you how many pairs of nude heels I have in my closet – because a lady can never have too many options, right? This spring season though, I have discovered a new neutral. I like to refer to it as my “new nude” because I’ve been purchasing everything that I can get my hands on in this particular color.

Blush appeared strongly on the runway during this year’s NYFW in collections from designers like J. Crew and Michael Kors. I purchased these baby pink patent booties online last summer and had no earthly idea what I was going to pair them with until I discovered this blush toned sweater dress by J.O.A. I immediately knew that these two would look ah-may-zing together!

I cinched the waist on this dress by adding a lucite belt, put on a pair of vintage sunglasses that I purchased from an online boutique, and tossed a classic denim jacket over my shoulders for that “cool girl” vibe. This look was perfect for grabbing a late night dessert with one of my close girlfriends. Somewhat casual but undoubtedly cute!

Are you feeling this season’s “new nude”, babes?  If so, comment below and tell me how you will be rocking this shade of pink!

xoxo,

Bri
